Leaves fall.
The grass is turning a darker shade.
Expectation.
Plans for the new year are made.
Summers over.
Time for a new season to begin.
School.
Yes, it’s that time again.

Fabulous Things!
This is something I wrote just for fun! :)
All things sparkly and shiny are what I love the most!
Glittery and dazzling, accessorizing my clothes!
Rhinestones, sequins, all those fabulous things,
Earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings!
Diamonds glitter, pearls shine,
always overdressed by design!
Some glitter here, some sparkle there,
Fancy things top off my hair.
Shiny fingernails and toes too,
With glam you just can't overdo!
Sparkly things, as you can see..
Are all just the thing for me!

The New Day- By Lydia
The dew drops on the petals and leaves,
The gentle swaying in the trees,
The simply breathtaking clear blue sky,
The songs of birds as they go by,
The radience of the rising sun,
Has come to tell us a new day has begun!

Books!!!
Books, books, so fun to read!
Turn the page, can't wait, it's a need!
In this adventure, what happens next?
What is written it this exciting text?
Lions, tigers, bears, can they be seen?
Maybe a faraway land with a fantasy queen.
A unicorn with a fabulous, shiny horn,
or maybe a massive farm with a trillion ears of corn!
See the mental picture, it seems so real.
A whale, a dolphin, or maybe a seal!
A runner, a gymnast, that sort of thing,
a hundred foot bell with a terrifying ring!
Fiction, Sci-Fi, or Fantasy,
Whatever type of book it is, I love to read! :)
What is a Book?
What is a book?
A transporter to far away places.
An escape from everyday life.
A comfort.
A piece of art.
That is a book.

Color Outside the Lines-By Suzy Toronto
As a child I was always taught to paint the sky blue and the grass green.
I was told to be very careful and stay inside the lines.
Why did they do that?
Life is too full of possibilities to confirm to unimportant rules
that end in don't matter.
Rules like these stifle our creativity, and halt our progress to achieve our
full potential. So go ahead.
Splash a violet and and melon and chartreuse all over your work...... and splatter
it on the floor if spirit so moves you.
For now is the time to embrace your creativity.
Break the rules.........
And whatever you do, don't worry about staying in the lines.

Always searching for clues.
Unlocking, Finding, Learning,
Amazing, Adventurous,

Amazing, Adventurous,
Secrets.
What is a blank piece of paper?
What is a blank piece of paper?
A beautiful scene waiting to be found.
A story waiting to be told.
A poem waiting to be written.
An adventure waiting to begin.
That is a blank piece of paper.

Spring-By Lydia
Cool water rushing down,
the sun is shining all around.
The air, so fresh, so calm, so serene,
The air, so fresh, so calm, so serene,
the water so bold, so daring, so clean.
The sweet sensation, the wind in your hair,
The sweet sensation, the wind in your hair,
colorful birds singing everywhere.
Not a cloud in the sky, all you see is blue,
Not a cloud in the sky, all you see is blue,
all the flowers are blooming for you.
Not a glitch in the flawless weather,
Not a glitch in the flawless weather,
I wish spring could stay forever.
Foolish Things- By Suzy Toronto
In our efforts to masquerade as someone who really has their act together, goofs, blunders and faux pas often slip out. We get our feet stuck so far into our mouths or our skirts flung up so high over our heads, the spectacle is hard to miss.
This is where laughing at ourselves becomes a life-saving virtue. So next time your inner 'goofball' slips out, just throw your arms in the air, let out a giggle, and give the world a cross-eyed smile!
After all, we may do foolish things........
But at least we do them with enthusiasm!!!

Katie's Great Race chapter 1
Katie's Great Race
Chapter one
by Lydia
“All players at the starting line!” Eleven year old Katie Bannerman slowly made her way to her mark, her honey blond hair blowing, heart beating like a drum. “It’s only a semi, it’s only a semi” she repeated over and over in her head. Katie loved to run. She had her whole life, and she ran whenever she could. She had always run for fun, but when the competitions started, she began to wonder if it could be possibly fun to do anything with all this pressure.
The crowd cheered as she got into position. “Ready……” The announcer called, okay, thought Katie. “Set………” ‘Here we go, she thought “Go!” In a flash, Katie was gone, now a blur going down the track, easily passing all of her opponents. “Katie!’ “Katie!” The crowd cheered. It was obvious that she was the favorite. With one final swoosh, She raced passed the finish line, and breathed a sigh of relief. It was done, now the pressure was off and she could just relax and do whatever. No more competition. “Katie!’ Her best friend Lizzie called. “You won! Your going to the championships!’
“Hey”! called Katie’s younger sister Liza. “You can’t eat that”! gesturing to the candy bar Katie was holding inches from her mouth. “Your in training”! Katie sighed, but reluctantly put down the chocolate. “Much better”, Liza said, and pointed towards an apple sitting on the table, then left. Katie looked slyly at the candy bar still sitting on the counter. As she was reaching for the candy, a piercing horn blew in her ears. She looked up to see Liza, frowning and holding a horn. Katie sighed once more, then reached for the apple.
“3 laps", called Katie’s track coach, Coach Sara from the bleachers, but to Katie it was only a blur of color. Katie was at her track training, which she went to 5 days a week. She was running her fastest, racing around the circular track. Faster, Faster, she thought to herself. Faster. She made her legs carry her as fast as they possibly could. Suddenly, her feet twisted underneath her. She wobbled and screamed. Then it all went black.
